Ryan Black

Ryan Black

Ryan Black started working on One Day in April shortly after the initial conception. Originally, Ryan came to Indiana University hoping to grow in the theater community, but soon discovered his passion was actually behind the camera. As Tom transitioned from journalist to filmmaker, Ryan followed, and the two began producing shorts together. In 2011, Ryan helped produce and co-write Tom Miller’s debut short film “All we’ve Built” which was accepted into the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner. In 2013, during Ryan’s senior year at Indiana, Tom approached Ryan about helping on a documentary about the Little 500. Having little knowledge of the race, and no clear indication of the size of the project, Ryan immediately joined the team. Little did he know at the time, the film would soon consume his life, and well over a year later, he would still be collecting footage. The time Ryan spent working on One Day in April shaped him as a filmmaker and cinematographer, and instilled the confidence and technical know-how he relies on today. Currently, he is a freelance cinematographer and editor in the Phoenix, Arizona area, specializing in documentary style social media videos

Shane Seibel

Shane Seibel

Shane started making movies like every other kid in the 90s: with his parents’ VHS camera and a handful of adventurous friends. In fact, deep in a random hard drive somewhere exists epic paintball war films and cheesy Sci-Fi adventure stories that any 10-year-old would be proud of.

After graduating from Emerson College’s prestigious film program, Shane worked as a cinematographer for over 8 years—in that time shooting 6 feature length narratives and several dozen short films and commercials.

Story has always been the pinnacle of importance for his projects, and the more he studied story, the more he wanted to tell his own stories. In addition to cinematography, Shane has been writing scripts for short films and feature length narratives as well as directing and producing commercials and branded content for some of the world’s largest companies.
